The City of Oshawa is updating its communications strategy to ensure we continue to provide you with the information you want and need and in a way that best suits your lifestyle.

To piece it all together, we needed to hear from you. You were invited to share your feedback on:

  • your overall satisfaction with communications received;
  • how you currently receive information; and,
  • your preferred method and frequency of communications moving forward.

The Corporate Communications Strategy survey is now closed.

  • I am mainly interested in my Residential Property Taxes and what strategies are being utilized by the city to Stabilize or Reduce my Property Taxes! Can the Corporate Communication Strategy please consider UPDATING all RESIDENTIAL / BUSINESS owners on any changes positive or negative to our property taxes on a timely basis? THANKS!

    Thank you for sharing your feedback on City of Oshawa communications. We will include your comments on timely communications for property tax levy increases in the report that will be presented to the Corporate Services Committee this spring. Your personal information will not be used.

  • Why are we refreshing the Corporate Communications Strategy?

    The City of Oshawa, our community and how we communicate has evolved dramatically since the Corporate Communication Strategy was implemented in 2007. As a result, the refreshed strategy will be focused on ensuring the strategies of how and where we communicate is reflective of the all community needs while raising the profile of Corporate Communications and its services, while also streamlining internal policies and assisting staff in understanding the role and responsibilities of the Corporate Communications team.

  • What is Corporate Communications is responsible for?

    The Corporate Communications team works with all departments within the City of Oshawa to ensure:

    • strategic communications that promote a positive image of the city;
    • community engagement opportunities about City services and programs;
    • media relations and advertising;
    • online communications including City website, Connect Oshawa and social media;
    • corporate identity/brand and the preparation of promotional materials; and,
    • emergency communications.
